•Families receive a monthly stipend to assist with the cost of caring for a child
•Ongoing training and support are offered to foster parents, including respite care
•Child care costs for children in foster care can be covered
•Children in foster care have their own medical, dental and vision insurance
PRIDE (Parent’s Resource for Information, Development and Education) is a 30 hour comprehensive training program offered to individuals interested in becoming a foster parent, adoptive parent or respite care provider for foster children. The PRIDE program is one of the requirements for licensing in the State of South Dakota. This program is offered for FREE.

Mall Walk

Now in its 17th year, this fund raising walkathon gathers families, friends and co-workers for a six mile walk in the comfort of the Empire Mall. Proceeds are used to buy equipment, toys and special adapted items for the children. Over 1,000 supporters of Children's Care participated last year, raising over $75,000. The 2011 Mall Walk promises to be bigger than ever with fantastic prizes and incentives for the walkers. Watch the website for details soon on the 2011 Mall Walk for Children's Care. Doctors in Concert

Doctors in Concert is a performing concert consisting of local physicians displaying their musical talents to raise money for the children served by Children's Care. The concert features a wide range of talents, including ballroom dancing with a group of local physicians and spouses performing for the audience. Reception and silent auction follow the performances. The event is a great way to showcase incredible talent and entertainment with proceeds to benefit programs that enrich the quality of life for our children.

The event includes a fabulous jewelry raffle, table voting, luncheon and an inspirational speaker to educate the crowd about the work being done at Children's Care Hospital & School. Proceeds are used to purchase needed therapy or educational equipment and supplies for the kids at Children's Care.
